Requirements Workshop
For more complex electronic signature use-cases it may be necessary to perform a comprehensive review of the signing requirements to ensure all business, policy, security, legal, procedural and technical requirements are captured. In many implementations this is a critical stage in the adoption of electronic signatures.
The requirements workshop helps you derive these requirements, the detailed conditions and workflow under which signatures will be created and validated, and the options available to satisfy them. The workshop considers a comprehensive suite of inputs, signature and validation related choices. For example:

-
The business process within which signatures will be used.
-
Signature options e.g. serial signatures, parallel signatures, counter signatures, witnessed signatures.
-
The legal and/or regulatory framework where the business process is conducted.
-
The legal effect of signatures in the context of the business process.
-
The commitment/responsibility assumed by the signer e.g. authentication, integrity, authorship, approval etc.
-
The entity generating the signature (natural, legal, device).
-
Attributes to be included within or associated with the signature e.g. signing time.
-
Signature augmentation requirements.
-
Signature validation requirements

Following the requirements gathering activity, the outputs are used to inform the implementation of the signature solution by mapping them to appropriate signature formats, configurations, and procedures. Where required, they can also be used as the basis for the generation of a formal signature, augmentation and validation policies.
